Hull

Amlin underwrites a diverse international hull book, with a roughly equal spread of larger bluewater accounts, contrasted by significant niche accounts for restricted conditions, loss of hire and fishing vessels.

The underwriting team is perhaps the most experienced in the London Market with the four underwriters possessing over 90 years of London Market Marine Hull experience.

For quality older tonnage, we are the largest London market leader, mostly underwritten through our interactive broker to underwriter
website, Marinsure.

Richard Lurcott

Richard has worked at the core of the Lloyd’s marine hull market since 1982, when he joined the Langton Agency as underwriting assistant. He later joined Amlin’s Syndicate 2001 in 1990, as deputy hull underwriter, where he reported to Anthony Bartleet. Richard became class hull underwriter in 1994.

Whilst underwriting all areas of the hull account, Richard is noted as a major London lead for international fishing vessels as well as loss of charter hire. He also concentrates on the craft and restricted conditions account for older, well maintained, ships.
