Amlin insures the construction of many of the world’s new offshore platforms and facilities. We underwrite a broad account from geo-thermal wells to multi-billion dollar platforms, both fixed and mobile, and their supporting pipelines.
Amlin specialises in the exploration and production phases of the energy industry.

Andrew Wright
Andrew is head of the marine business unit and underwriting director of Amlin Singapore. He began his career working for the Lloyd’s Corporation in 1987 before joining a specialist Bloodstock broker, Hall Ropner, in 1988.
He joined Amlin in 1989 working on both the Bloodstock and Marine Energy accounts as an underwriting assistant. Andrew became assistant underwriter on both of the above in 1993 before assuming the role of class underwriter in 1998, again in both classes. In 2003 Andrew relinquished the Bloodstock role to focus solely on the Marine Energy account.

Tim Welsh
Tim began his career in the London company market in 1989 as a trainee underwriter. His early experiences included non-marine underwriting, claims handling, outwards reinsurance and marine hull underwriting.
He joined Amlin in December 1994 as an Assistant Underwriter on the marine hull account and progressed to the position of Hull Underwriter in 2000. Tim subsequently joined the marine energy class in 2003 as Energy Underwriter and became Class Underwiter in 2008.
