Amlin has for some considerable time been involved in the space launch, in orbit, liability and products market for risks associated with the launch all types of satellites into outer space and their continuing operation in orbit. The division provides lead capacity and expertise in the liability and products classes.

Rod Dampier

Having begun his underwriting career with Royal Insurance marine department in 1967, Rod moved to the aviation division in 1971. He then joined Aviation and General in 1985, which merged with most other UK composite insurer's aviation departments to form British Aviation Insurance Group (now Global Aviation) in 1991 where he was a senior underwriter until 1997. He then moved to Amlin as the divisional underwriter for the aviation division.
Rod is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Associate Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a member of the LMA Aviation Committee.

James Greenhalgh

James began his insurance career with the broking house Bain Clarkson (now part of Aon) before moving to a Legal & General affiliate as a pensions and investments specialist.
In 1994, James joined the Aviation Underwriting Consortium between Murray Lawrence & Partners and Stewart & Hughman which developed into Syndicate 2001 and Amlin's Aviation Division. During this time James worked on reinsurance and syndicate accounting before becoming an underwriter.
James is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurer.
