Amlin wins prestigious Building Public Trust Award
30 September 2005
Amlin plc (Amlin), the leading Lloyd’s insurer, has won
the PricewaterhouseCoopers' Building
Public Trust Award for Reporting of Executive Remuneration. The
award was received by
Charles Philipps, Chief Executive, at last night’s annual
ceremony.
PricewaterhouseCoopers' Building Public Trust Awards celebrates
the commitment of the
UK's largest corporations and public sector bodies to build public
trust in how they
communicate the key building blocks of sustainable performance.
According to the judging panel, Amlin received The Reporting of
Executive Remuneration
Award because the company gave a candid, well justified and
thorough explanation of its
incentive arrangement for underwriters which demonstrated alignment
with strategy and
showed clearly why the approaches for underwriters differed from
those of management.
Transparency was further enhanced in the company’s report
by explicit signposting and best
practice disclosures.
Amlin was one of only two non-FTSE100 companies to win an award.
Charles Philipps commented: “We are delighted. Amlin
prides itself on being an honest and
open company. We are dedicated to providing shareholders with
accurate and timely
information and we believe that clarity around the reporting of
Executive Remuneration is
evidence of this. The award also demonstrates Amlin’s
commitment to becoming the global
reference point for quality in our markets.”
